The hut offers more than 60 sleeping accommodations, independent heating and hot water all the year round. The prices, diversity of meals in our menu and the extra attractions would be a pleasant surprise for you.

The place for Planinec hut was chosen by a group of Bulgarian army officers in 1931. The hut itself was built in 1937 and was rebuilt and reconstructed several times. It is considered, that Planinec is one of the oldest Vitosha hut (except "Aleko"), but that fact does not influence on its poplularity and comfort.

Another attraction is the Vitosha Dendrarium - a place, where you can see diferent species of the mountain flora. The road twists and turns along a small lake and leads to several benches, where you can sit and rest for a while. In 2001 the whole place was renewed and several boards with flora descriptions were installed (written in Brail alphabet as well).

You can also visit the Boyana waterfall, but you will have to walk a little longer to reach it. The panorama is really worth it - this waterfall is probably one of the biggest in Bulgaria and doubtfully one of the most beautiful places in the whole mountain. During the winter the waterfall is a perfect palce for ice-climbers, but you should have practiced this sport previously to try it there.
